About the Almond Alliance
The Almond Alliance of California (formerly known as the Almond Huller and Processors Association) was established in 1980 to serve the almond industry in a capacity that isn’t available through any other organization. The Almond Alliance is dedicated to educating state and federal elected officials, policy makers and regulators about the California almond community. As a membership-based organization, our members include almond processors, hullers/shellers, growers and allied businesses. Almonds are one of California’s top three valued commodities, with a farmgate value of $5.6 billion (CDFA 2017) and the state’s leading agriculture export. It is important to note that 70% of growers of almonds are farming 100 acres or less and are primarily family owned and operated. California produces 82% of global supply of almonds. California almonds generate more than $21 billion in economic revenue and directly contribute more than $11 billion to the state’s total economy. California’s top agricultural export, almonds create approximately 104,000 jobs statewide, over 97,000 in the Central Valley, which suffers from chronic unemployment.
The Almond Alliance of California is the only trade association fully dedicated to advocating and protecting the almond industry.
The Almond Alliance of California is dedicated to innovative leadership and advocacy, ensuring the sustainability and success of the California almond community.
It is the vision of the Almond Alliance of California to be a responsive, highly effective agriculture advocacy and policy organization.
Integrity, Member Driven, Community Stewardship, Collaboration, Proactive
The Almond Alliance represents over 80% of the almonds processed in California. While we have strong domestic membership we also have a number of international members making our organization and network global. Almond Alliance provides a forum for business networking that facilitates relationships between our regular members, who are almond growers, hullers, shellers, processors and handlers, and our associate members, who provide products and services used by our regular membership, to ensure our members have access to the latest technology and services that enable them to conduct their businesses as efficiently as possible.
